Within the framework of the project "A to Polska właśnie....", organized by “The Polish Class” Сommunity together with the Pedagogical University in Krakow, thematic lectures on the history, culture and traditions, significant dates and outstanding personalities of Poland were held in the Polish Class throughout 2021. We learned not only a lot of new things on them, but also were able to replenish our vocabulary of the Polish language.

Proverbs and sayings as reflection of people’s wisdom Proverbs and sayings of different peoples are one of the most common genres of oral folk art. They contain a "set" of the moral rules of the people, worked out over the centuries; contain requirements that are made to a person, to his spiritual and moral qualities, to his ability to work and communicate with others, to his attitude to his native land and to his loved ones. Such expressive means as precise rhyme, simple form, brevity, made proverbs and sayings persistent, memorable and necessary in speech. Read more

The oldest in Europe… 3rd of May.. You won’t meet probably any Pole who doesn’t know what this day on the calendar means. This is because, next to November 11, it is the second most important national holiday in Poland. Poland can be proud of many pioneering solutions, which certainly include the enactment of the constitution called “The 3rd of May Constitution” on May 3, 1791. It is the oldest constitution in Europe, signed half a year earlier than the French one, and the second in the world (after the USA). Read more
